Here today for your consideration we have this beautiful Victorian sterling silver sugar caster, made by George Nathan & Ridley Hayes of Chester, c-1898. The piece is of octagonal design and large proportion throughout, being of good quality and gauge throughout. Condition is good used, with no major damage to note (a couple of minor depressions here and there, nothing too serious). The caster is free from monogram or crest, with the hallmarks about 60% overall (fading). An attractive piece of antique sterling silver for the collection.
The caster stands 24.5cm tall and has a maximum width of 9.5cm across the body. Unpacked, it weighs in at a respectable 300gms.
The final photo shows the caster next to a usual sized example and a bottle of champagne. These are merely props to show scale, and are not included with the sale.
