Here today for your consideration we have this intriguing Georgian sterling silver teapot, made by John Watson of Sheffield, c-1806. The pot stands atop a footed base with gadrooned rims and timber handle, being of excellent quality throughout. Condition is good used, with a repair to the handle evident (per photos). The teapot includes the original sterling silver strainer, which is fitted with cotton cloth liner; a rare inclusion indeed. The pot features a well executed monogram to one face, with the hallmarks about 70% overall. A fine example of an early 19th century sterling silver teapot.
The pot stands 22cm tall and measures 28cm handle-to-spout. It has a comfortable capacity of 1 litre and pours beautifully. Unpacked, it weighs in at 628gms.
