Antique Georgian 1801 Sterling Silver Teapot 1150ml Tea Pot David Pontifex Set

Here today for your consideration we have this beautiful Georgian sterling silver teapot, made by David Pontifex of London, c-1801. The teapot is of oval form with gadrooned rim, ebonised timber handle and ebony finial, being of very good quality and gauge throughout. Condition is good used overall. The thumbpiece on the handle has a piece missing, with the handle having slight movement (but still quite stable and functional). The teapot features a well executed though fading monogram to one side, with the hallmarks about 90% overall. A very attractive and useful Georgian sterling teapot for the collection.

The teapot stands 16.5cm tall and measures 27.5cm handle-to-spout. It has a generous capacity of 1,150mls (39 fl.oz) and pours nicely. Unpacked, it weighs in at a respectable 559gms.
