Here today for your consideration we have this beautiful Edwardian sterling silver and mother of pearl twenty-four piece fruit cutlery set, made by Walker & Hall of Sheffield, c-1907 and 1910. This large set comprises two twelve-piece set of similar design and identical maker, with each piece fitting beautifully within an original walnut canteen. The blades and tines feature bright-cut detail, the ferrules and handles being of understated design. Quality is very good throughout, unsurprising with the manufacturer. Each piece is in good used condition, with a couple of marks to some handles and some minor separation at the joins with every piece being tight and without movement. The set is free from individual monogram or crest, although the box is monogrammed to the brass cartouche. The box is in good used condition, with key supplied but lock catch missing. A very fine and useful set for the collection.
The knives measure 19.5cm-20cm long with the forks measuring 16.5cm-17cm long. The boxed set weighs in at 2.2kgs, with the cutlery accounting for a very respectable 977gms of this.
