Here today for your consideration we have this fantastic solid 9ct yellow gold Maltese cross-shaped medal, presented to Brother Edward W Bell C.P by the Pirie Lodge (no. 1684) of the Royal Antediluvian Order of Buffaloes on the 6th of February, 1932. The medal was produced by Fattorini & Sons Ltd of Birmingham and comes complete in original box with sterling silver-mounted ribbon sash with enamel centre. Condition is good used, with very minor enamel losses to the medal and the silver mounts requiring a polish. The box is shabby but complete, with hinges and clasps working as intended. A very fine piece of excellent quality.
The medal alone measures 51mm x 35mm, with the included sash bring the total length to 138mm. The medal (with sash) weighs 31.40gms, with the 9ct gold being a very respectable 22.47gms of this. The boxed set weighs in at 110gms.
