Here today for your consideration we have this beautiful Edwardian solid 9ct yellow gold mourning brooch and locket, made by Robert Rollason of Sydney, c-1900. The brooch is of typical twin-bar form with central heart motif studded with synthetic ruby and twin-leaf detail studded with a total of six seed pearls. The locket dangles below and features an additional twelve seed pearls with synthetic emerald in trefoil/spade setting. The locket features a domed glass windows with original photo to the face and hair to the reverse. Condition is good overall, with no major damage to note. The twin dangle chains between the brooch and locket are likely a later addition and are somewhat dull. The pin holds nicely within the catch, and the safety chain is in good order. The piece is free from engraving, with both brooch and locket stamped for Rollason and 9ct gold. A very attractive and versatile piece for the collection.
The brooch has a total width of 60mm and a height of 65mm (locket inclusive). Unpacked, the piece weighs in at 10.47gms.
